Our Support

We offer a variety of financial support options for individual students and groups, as well as awards for exceptional theses in the field of Cognitive Science.

Financial support for students’ active conference participation

You are a CogSci student in Osnabrück and have just been invited to speak at a conference (e.g. a talk or poster presentation)? Congratulations – that’s a fantastic achievement!
To support you with the financial side of the participation, there are multiple options! You can apply for support with the Universitätsgesellschaft. They can take over up to 80% of your expenses but require you to have a second source of support that covers the rest – which is where we, the CogSci Network e.V., come in. The CogSci Network e.V. can also support you financially without support through the Universitätsgesellschaft!

To apply, send us the filled in form via email, and a short description of your situation / conference participation. Even if some details are still unclear, feel free to reach out rather sooner than later!

Financial support for groups, initiatives, and projects

We offer individualised financial support for groups, initiatives, and projects in line with our network’s aims and goals. This could be networking events, research trips, or other kinds of projects and events for students and/or alumni.

To apply, send us a short description of your project idea and funding needs via email, including the filled in form below. Even if some details are still unclear, feel free to reach out rather sooner than later!

IK Stipends

Each year we offer a number of stipends to support students financially who would otherwise not be able to attend the Interdisciplinary College.

The stipends are intended for students who otherwise do not have the financial means to attend the conference. Please do an honest self-assessment before applying. This offer is open to all the students of the Cognitive Science program (BA and MA) in Osnabrück – being a member of the CogSci Network e.V. is not a prerequisite! If there are more applications than we can issue stipends, we will draw lots to select the recipients.

For the IK 2025 we offer 10 stipends covering up to 300€ of the total cost, to support students’ attendance at the IK. Apply until December 9th.

To avoid some confusions of the past year, please note: this stipend will most likely not cover all the expenses you will have for participating at this conference – please check out participation fee, accommodation prices and potential travel expenses in time!

Note: While registration for the conference is possible until February 9th, 2025, the early bird registration fees are up until January 8th, 2025. So make sure to get your ticket for the best price.

Combining our stipend with other financial support/stipends is not possible. You can step back any time from this application by emailing us.

The stipend hinges on your actual participation at the IK – providing proof of participation is necessary after the conference. If you have been selected for a stipend by the CogSci Network e.V., purchased a ticket but are then not attending the IK, we cannot issue the stipend.

Legal action is excluded. “Der Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen.”

To apply for the stipend of up to 300€, click the button below, fill in and send the prepared email to cogsci-network@uni-osnabrueck.de until 9th of December. We will contact the stipend recipients shortly after the deadline.

Feel free to contact us with any questions about the stipend.
